California poultry quarantine expanded

Gov. Gray Davis yesterday declared a state of emergency in six southern counties and the USDA expanded a quarantine to cover all chickens in Southern California. California's poultry industry is bracing for the effects a disease that has led to the recent slaughter of 1.2 million chickens. Click here to learn more about Newcastle disease.
