FDA approves new form of cancer drug Taxol

American Pharmaceutical Partners received FDA approval for Abraxane, a new form of the breast cancer drug Taxol that is easier to administer and has fewer side effects. The new drug is intended for women with advanced breast cancer who have not responded to chemotherapy. Taxol is sold by Bristol-Myers Squibb and is also available in generic forms.
