University panel says Hwang faked cloning research

A special panel at Seoul National University, where Hwang Woo-suk did his research, said the scientist and his team faked two landmark papers on embryonic stem cells, but they did produce the world's first cloned dog. The team "cannot avoid taking grave responsibility for fabricating its papers and concealing data," said the head of the investigative panel.
