Study: Endotoxin affects fetal development

Indian scientists found that exposure of embryoid bodies, which are derived from embryonic stem cells, to a type of endotoxin led to their inability to form functional bone cells. "These findings have significant implications for birth defect research and evaluation of developmental toxicity during drug screening," one expert said.
