American trims 150 jobs, 2 routes to cut costs

AMR Corp. has announced its decision to drop American Airlines flights to New Delhi, India, and Burbank, Calif., and to lay off about 150 employees as part of its streamlining efforts. Flights from Chicago to New Delhi will stop March 1, and the route from Dallas-Ft. Worth to Burbank will stop Feb. 9. The airline did not rule out the possibility of ceasing other routes.
