Appetite-curbing hormone may help obese lose weight

Obese patients with or without diabetes who took a minimum dosage of the appetite-suppressing glucagonlike peptide-1 hormone for at least 20 weeks lost more weight than people in control groups, a review in the British Medical Journal of 25 studies revealed. Researchers also noted improvements in blood pressure and total cholesterol levels in GLP-1-treated patients.
