BNSF sets increased business, growth as targets for 2012

BNSF will strive to achieve "more growth" this year, said John Lanigan, BNSF executive vice president and chief marketing officer. The Class I aims to tap potential business opportunities from shale drilling projects, the coal and agribusiness sectors, domestic intermodal shipments and automobile transport. "We work with customers to look for growth opportunities," said BNSF CEO and Chairman Matthew Rose. "But as we explore other markets, we don't want to forget about the mature markets."
