CDC: 1 in 6 U.S. adults drinks excessively

Data from the 2010 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System revealed that more than 38 million U.S. adults are binge drinkers, drinking alcohol excessively an average of four times a month. In the journal Vital Signs, CDC researchers reported that binge drinking was most prevalent among adults ages 18 to 34, but seniors who reported binge drinking did so more often on average.
