Crafting text carefully can help avoid spam filters

To avoid being trashed by spam filters, don't talk to consumers like a used-car salesman, writes Corey Eridon. Avoid words such as "free," all-caps type and exclamation points that put spam filters on high alert. Offer recipients double opt-ins and the chance to white-list your e-mails.
