U.S. STEMI patients see higher readmission rates

U.S. STEMI patients were more likely to return to the hospital within 30 days of the event than patients in other countries, according to Duke University researchers. Cardiovascular interventions that have dramatically improved survival to discharge from hospitals may play a role, according to the researchers. Baseline heart rate and multivessel disease were associated with higher readmission levels.
