API attacks manufacturers' efforts against LNG exports

Several manufacturers have established a group to warn against "unfettered" exports of liquefied natural gas, arguing it would affect U.S. jobs and manufacturing. The effort was criticized by the oil and natural gas industry. "Short-sighted efforts by a few industrial users to restrict exports in an apparent attempt to control prices would deprive American families of the wider benefits of lower costs and increased job creation," said Jack Gerard, president and CEO of the American Petroleum Institute.
