Brazil's BNDES to offer $1.97B in financing to sugarcane growers

Brazilian development bank BNDES is planning to offer a second batch of loans totaling $1.97 billion under a program intended to renew aging sugarcane fields and stimulate ethanol production. The first batch of loans, also totaling $1.97 billion, was aimed at promoting cultivation of more than 1 million acres of cane for sugar and ethanol production.
