Fault could cause earthquakes felt throughout Calif.

The San Andreas Fault may be capable of producing mega earthquakes that can be felt in the entirety of California, according to a study published in the Journal of Nature. The study contradicts the belief that parts of the fault act as a buffer to prevent southern earthquakes from being felt in the north. Researchers add that the knowledge should be a warning to emergency preparedness workers for possible statewide disasters.
