New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie repeatedly apologized during a two-hour news conference for the closing of ramps to the George Washington Bridge in what turned out to be an act of political revenge by his administration. He fired a senior aide whom he largely blamed for the scandal and terminated his relationship with a longtime political associate.
