Smucker plans additional $40 million expansion for Memphis plant

Last year, J.M. Smucker announced a $55 million expansion at its Memphis facility, and the company recently announced it will add another $40 million in improvements to the plant. The new plans will expand peanut butter production for its Jif, Laura, Scudders, Adams and Smucker's brands. The Memphis plant had been scheduled to be shut down by summer 2013 before the company decided to move peanut butter production to the facility.
