Centro offers no reason for halting trading of shares

Australia's struggling Centro Properties Group and Centro Retail Group halted trading of their shares Friday, offering no explanation. The shopping mall owner said it expects trading of the stocks to resume by early next week. Centro Properties is finding it difficult to refinance $3.5 billion of maturing debt before mid-February and is considering selling assets to meet commitments.
