In hearings set for next month, Florida lawmakers will ask insurers why property insurance premiums have not decreased. Some insurers say they are willing to cooperate with the Senate Select Committee on Property Insurance Accountability. "If we have a fair opportunity to tell our side of the story, then we're willing to do that," said William Stander, an assistant vice president for the Property Casualty Insurers Association. "If it turns into a public relations stunt, then I don't think anybody wins."
