Study: FDG-PET scans show lymphoma chemotherapy affects the heart

Researchers exploring why chemotherapy for lymphoma patients causes heart problems used FDG-PET scans before and after administration of therapy and found that almost 90% of patients had increased myocardial FDG metabolism after receiving chemotherapy. Further research would show whether this increased metabolism causes cardiac problems.
