New Florida evaluations may lower school grades

A new high school assessment plan in Florida could lead to lower school scores, causing some to ask that officials delay the new grading system. The previous assessments focused largely on results of the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test, whereas the proposed plan puts more emphasis on such factors as graduation rates and students' scores on college-admissions tests.
