Sixth-graders learn about life with brain injuries

David Krempels, who sustained brain injuries in a 1992 crash that killed his wife of two days, is helping children learn what it's like to live with such an injury in the hopes of encouraging empathy and helmet use. "I can't believe people have to live like this every day. It must be hard," sixth-grader Caroline McDonough said after steering a wheelchair through an obstacle course with one hand.
