New York state lawmaker introduces bill to establish autism council

A New York state lawmaker has introduced a bill to create a statewide council on autism and establish regional centers to help people affected by the disorder get access to treatments and services. "It's time for New York state to become a leader in addressing the needs of families affected by autism and similar type disabilities," said state Sen. Roy McDonald, the sponsor of the bill, who has two grandchildren who have autism.
