Ontario schools start full-day kindergarten rollout

Officials in Ontario, Canada, hope to phase in full-day kindergarten, with as many as 600 schools offering the programme in September. Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty has said his goal is to enroll 50,000 students in full-day kindergarten by 2011. Officials announced the goal after the release of a report showing that showed children perform better in later grades if they've enrolled in all-day school before Grade 1.
