White House launches program to spur green-energy jobs

The White House announced last week a $2.3 billion program aimed at creating 17,000 green-manufacturing technology jobs through tax credits. Among the specific tax incentives announced were Dow Corning receiving $27 million to build a monosilane facility and $17.8 million to produce photovoltaic cells; both projects are in Michigan.
