States expand or maintain Medicaid, CHIP eligibility requirements

A Kaiser Family Foundation survey showed that 48 states and the District of Columbia kept or widened their criteria to qualify for Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program in an effort to be eligible for a share of the federal assistance amounting to $87 billion. The states' efforts led to significant increases in enrollment rates for such programs, the survey found.
