Georgia amusement park breaks ground on water park

Lake Winnepesaukah in Rossville, Georgia, held the groundbreaking ceremony for "SoakYa," a 5-acre water park it plans to open this summer. The complex will include an 800-foot lazy river, flume body slides, enclosed tube slides and more. "Lake Winnepesaukah is a hard-to-say and even harder-to-spell name, but through the years, that name has become synonymous with family fun in our region," said Talley Green, a member of the park's founding family. "That's why we chose SoakYa, a spirited play on our name, for the water park that is a perfect complement to our amusement complex." The addition will create 50 to 60 seasonal jobs.
