Researchers work on gesture interface for the OR

Researchers at Purdue University have developed a system that tracks a surgeon's movements in the operating room to allow touch-free navigation of radiologic images. The system uses Microsoft's Kinect 3D camera and takes the position of the surgeon's head and torso into account to avoid mistaking surgical motions for commands to the viewing system.
