State education chief in N.Y. facing challenge by union leader

New York State United Teachers' President Richard C. Iannuzzi has cited "mounting frustration" in announcing plans to ask the union's board of directors to support a vote of no confidence in the state's education commissioner, John B. King Jr. At issue, critics say, is the state's rocky rollout of the Common Core State Standards and what is viewed by some as a failure to listen to teachers and others about the effect of the changes.
