Steel and material price hike delays Seattle's costly construction projects

Due to rising prices in steel and other materials, the Seattle region's construction projects are over budget and behind schedule. Ken Simonson, chief economist for the Associated General Contractors of America, says major public works projects should expect some alterations, including redesigns, use of different materials, change in the specifications for the amount or the grade of the materials that are used.
