Florida entertainment complex to give way to towers

The Las Olas Riverfront, a $55 million Fort Lauderdale, Fla., entertainment complex that was opened in 1998, is throwing in the towel because it wasn't able to meet financial projections. Owner Boca Developers plans to clear the New River site and replace it with a 33-story condo building, a 22-story hotel and a 19-story office tower.
