Emergency planners seek to help home-based life-support users

Emergency officials in the U.S. are launching initiatives aimed at tracking individuals who depend on electricity to operate their life-supporting devices, in an effort to provide assistance to them during power outages. One of the projects is a statewide Web registry of such patients that North Dakota is set to introduce this month.
