FCC forms international forum to promote white space issue

In an effort to create global momentum for his white space proposal, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin said Friday the FCC was forming the International TV White Spaces Fellowship and Training Initiative, a way for FCC engineers to educate overseas regulators on the matter. Martin wants to allow tech companies to use the unused portions of the broadcast digital spectrum for wireless initiatives, a proposal that broadcasters in the U.S. fear would cause interference with their digital signals.
