Report: New Wi-Fi standard to reach most smartphones

Almost 90% of all Wi-Fi-enabled smartphones will include support for the new 802.11n wireless standard within five years, according to a report from ABI Research, although analysts warn mobile-phone performance won't match those of laptops -- at least not at first. ABI also predicted that 4G networks will drive a suite of new "Web 3.0" premium services that will attract a considerable number of new subscribers.
