U.S. considers tax on financial industry

The Obama administration and some members of Congress reportedly are looking into imposing a tax on the financial-services industry. Proposals under consideration include a tax on bankers' bonuses and a fee applied to stock transactions. Economists warned that a tax that would be popular with the public might cripple the economy's recovery.
