Florida airport plans to extend runway by 1,400 feet

Runway use at Lake Wales Municipal Airport in Florida has fallen by 50% recently. The airport plans to extend its 4,000-foot-long runway by about 1,400 feet to attract more traffic. The city-owned airport services about 20,000 takeoffs and landings per year.
