Connected cars take center stage at CES

The cars of the future will be connected to the Internet and will offer drivers an array of infotainment and navigation tools. That's the message coming out of the International CES in Las Vegas, where Ford, Audi and Mercedes are all showing off networking technology. Ford executive Paul Mascarenas said the company is designing vehicles that respond to thousands of voice commands, while Audi and Mercedes are pushing technologies that support hands-free driving or heads-up displays that respond to driver gestures.
