Mass. health official aims to curb mislabeled seafood

Massachusetts has launched a pilot project in partnership with Legal Seafoods that will use bar codes to track seafood from ports to restaurant plates and grocery shelves, Public Health Commissioner John Auerbach told state legislators this week. The move comes after a 2011 report that found nearly half of seafood at 130 restaurants and grocery stores was mislabeled.
