Some banks start helping customers avoid fees

Some banks are overhauling their approach to checking accounts. Lenders are offering new ways for customers to avoid checking account fees, some of which were instituted in reaction to Dodd-Frank Act restrictions. Wells Fargo and other banks have even started calling customers to help them sidestep fees. Meanwhile, Chase has adopted a simplified disclosure form for checking accounts.
