Asia shares end week lower

Asian shares were mixed Friday on news of a thinning Chinese trade surplus in December but ended the week down ahead of Friday's key U.S. employment report. The Chinese export figure "gives you some lead on where the Chinese economy is going, but I think you should not draw any conclusion that the weaker Chinese exports give you any lead on the global economic growth," said Garry Evans, head of global equity strategy at HSBC Holdings in Hong Kong.
