CAM treatments are common in children with disabilities

U.S. researchers surveyed parents of almost 600 2- to 5-year-olds in California, and found that 40% of those with autism spectrum disorder and 30% of those with a developmental delay were treated with complementary and alternative medicine. Many parents reported using such treatments besides conventional therapies. The study was published in the Journal of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics.
