GEA boosts production to meet rising Asian milk powder demands

European producers of milk powder saw an increased demand from Asian markets in the final three months of 2013, resulting in $163 million in new contracts for GEA, the company announced last week. High demand is expected to continue, causing GEA to boost investment in production facilities for skim milk powder, whole milk powder, skim milk concentrate and powdered infant formula. "At the moment we see it staying like this, and for now we have a stable project pipeline," said GEA Head of Investor Relations Axel Wolferts.
