Study links parental encouragement, children's physical activity

Among more than 1,300 fifth-graders and their parents in Alberta, parental encouragement to stay fit was associated with increased levels of physical activity, according to a study in the journal BMC Public Health. Researchers noted that parents were more likely to encourage boys than girls to keep active.
