The Sunday night TV schedule continues to be crowded with some of TV networks' most highly regarded series, as well as buzz-worthy specials and events. On Sunday, HBO launched its "True Detective" miniseries and featured the season premiere of "Girls," while Showtime's "Shameless," "House of Lies" and "Episodes" each had their season debuts. Even if viewers decide to record shows Sunday and watch later, for high-profile series, "you're not sending quite the same signal if you put it on Friday or Monday or Tuesday," Showtime President of Entertainment David Nevins said.
