Safeway moves to close 12 Dominick's stores

Safeway announced Monday it plans to close 12 Chicago-area Dominick's stores March 13. The move, which could cost Safeway as much as $55 million in first-quarter pretax costs to exit leases, comes after labor issues prevented the supermarket company from selling the 113-store Dominick's chain last year.
