Pilots must report laser flashes under new DOT plan

The Department of Transportation will now require pilots to report laser flashing incidents immediately to air traffic controllers, who will warn other pilots. Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta said law enforcement agencies will prosecute people who flash lasers at aircraft. An FBI official said there is no evidence terrorists are using lasers to flash aircraft.
