Renovation of Detroit's Renaissance Center complete

General Motors has finished its $500 million renovation of Detroit's Renaissance Center. The eight-year renovation project fixed some of the complex's most criticized design flaws, including removing immense mechanical berms that walled off the structure and building a plaza along the Detroit River waterfront, which was ignored in the original design.
