Displaced students in Tennessee must make diploma decision

About 540 juniors and seniors evacuated to Tennessee schools due to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita must decide whether to pursue a diploma in their new state or one from Louisiana. Tennessee officials decided early on not to waive their graduation requirements, although they are counting courses taken in another state toward their three exit exams and are offering extra help to displaced students.
