Air Force may accelerate F-22 purchases

The Air Force may consider speeding up the rate at which it will purchase the F-22 Raptor to compensate for the grounding of older F-15 fighter jets. Maj. Gen. Mark "Shack" Shackelford, who oversees the acquisition of fighters and bombers, noted that the Air Force plans to buy 381 F-22 Raptors, which are built by Lockheed Martin.
