Hummus gains ground in the U.S.

The consumer shift toward more nutritious food and international flavors has made hummus popular among U.S. consumers, and more companies are taking interest in the Mediterranean spread. PepsiCo has teamed up with Strauss Group to market Sabra -- the best-selling maker of hummus in the U.S. -- through its Frito-Lay brand, while G. Willi-Food International has entered into an agreement that will make Shamir Salad's kosher hummus available in the U.S. market.
