Cessna announces deeper job cuts

Cessna Aircraft Co. said Monday it will cut another 2,000 workers from its payrolls in March, a step described as "regrettable, but necessary to ensure our long-term stability and success." The company sent out nearly 700 60-day layoff notices last month, and the new round of notices will start within weeks. "These are particularly difficult times, and it is very painful to lose so many great team members, and unfortunately we must take these steps to protect the future of our company," said a Cessna spokesman.
