Minnesota embraces new technology for snowplows

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has equipped snowplows with a GPS system that gives weather updates and pavement conditions. The Maintenance Decision Support System can also recommend which chemicals and how much of them to use on snow. The systems cost $2,500 to set up for each snowplow, according to the agency.
